Trip to Florida CONTINUED...

Where did we leave off... oh yeah... we just finished up at the pool (see blog from May 2)

After an afternoon of relaxation and spending time with family it was time for Brett and I to get dressed up for our friends Lauren and Rob's wedding. The wedding was in Miami, and despite traffic and road closing all over South Florida that night we managed to make it (only a little late).

It was our first Jewish wedding, so we got to witness and learn about a few new traditions during the ceremony including the breaking of the glass and the bride circling the groom 7 times. After the ceremony we headed to the reception and got to meet some of Lauren and Rob's friends and family, as well as say hello to the bride (who is known for her silly poses in photos). Unfortunately we had a long drive ahead of us, so we were not able to stay for the entire reception; however we are waiting to see all the pictures!

Sunday was our last full day in Florida so we wanted to make it worth while! First thing, we went on a Tim Leonard guided tour of West Palm and the surrounding areas; driving by the coast, all the famous people's homes and where Patti works. Brett had never been before, so he really enjoyed seeing the sites, however Peter took a nap (no offense Tim).

The first stop we made was at the Turtle Park (I don't remember the name of it), where we got to see Grey's art work on display as well as a bunch of rescued turtles from the area's beaches and wetlands.

Next stop was at a birthday party for the daughter of one of Patti's friends who was turning 2 and had a petting zoo brought to her home for the big day! Peter and Grey got to pet sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits, ferrets, and a mean lama; all of which delighted them to no end.

After the birthday party, we headed to the grey hound track to bet on the dog races! Each of us had a different strategy on how to bet, however none of us walked away with more money than we started with.

Next we headed to dinner and then to my favorite place in West Palm - the ice cream shop with the "dangerous" bathroom! The bathroom's in this shop (which I cannot remember the name of) have even been on TV's travel network as one of the top 10 coolest bathrooms!

What is the "dangerous" part? When you walk up the doors/walls appear to be clear glass; but when you lock the door they turn frosted. The even more dangerous part came when Brett went to use the bathroom with my cousin Grey who unlocked the door while Brett was lets say "mid-stream."

The next morning we got up bright and early and headed home, leaving Florida's beautiful weather for the rainy day that DC was having. It was such a fun filled and busy trip and we are excited to go back!
