This past Sunday I celebrated my first official Mother's Day (when someone reminded me that it was my first I was actually taken back because I must say I cannot remember not being a mom now).
The day started off with the best gift of all - both Peter and Aaron (from inside my belly) let me sleep until 9:00 am!!! This is VERY rare since the clocks were moved for day light savings and Peter started waking up at 7:30am instead of 8:30am like he was doing all winter. It was also a nice break seeing as we had stayed up until 1:00am the night before playing board games and chatting with my sister and Brett's cousin Kim who were both visiting for the weekend.
Our first stop was church, where we heard a really nice sermon by our good friend Josh Burnett about the importance of honoring mother's on more than just one day a year. It was great to be back at church, since it had been almost 5 weeks for me (since April was filled with travel, etc.)
After church we headed out to the Dulles Hyatt when our friend Paul is the restaurant manager and enjoyed the amazing brunch that they were serving. Brunch included a breakfast buffet, a lunch buffet, a mashed potato bar, a raw bar, and dessert selections; not to mention 10 minute massages for all the mothers!
Needless to say we all stuffed ourselves before heading back home, and then spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing before Katelyn had to drive back to Penn State.
So, in conclusion, it was a great FIRST (still cannot believe it) Mother's Day and I hope that all the mother's reading this had an equally wonderful day!
