At the beginning of last week Peter started to get a stuffy nose, but being the none-worrier that I am I thought it was teething and didn't really pay attention to it. He was pretty good all week, but both he and I were a little lethargic and stuffy.
By Friday set in and we both had coughs and were sneezing like crazy. Thankfully I already had a doctor's appointment scheduled for Peter's 9 month check up, so I got to have them check out his cold as well.
The doctor thought he looked pretty alert and told me to wait it out and not to medicate him at all. As long as his sleeping, eating and temperature were holding up he should be fine.
The rest of the day was OK, but yesterday we both woke up with fevers and Peter was sounding much more congested. We called the doctor, who told us to only give Tylenol symptomatically, and spent the whole day resting in bed.
This morning symptoms had gotten worse! We missed church, rested and tried to get Peter to take some fluids. Poor kiddo was really hating life though.
Finally, this evening he started to get some of his playfulness back and even ate well for dinner (which was great because he hasn't eaten well in 3 days). Hopefully we are over the worst of it, but I cannot believe how hard it is on Brett and I to watch our kid feel so bad and not be able to really sooth him.
The only good things about the whole sick weekend were, that we got through it and that Peter is the most snugly sick kid ever. Even though I hated seeing him sick, I loved when he would curl up new to or on top of me to feel better. Seeing him rest his head on my belly might be the cutest thing ever.
