We got the house!!!

Thank you so much everyone for your prayers and crossed fingers. Our contract on the house in Annandale was ratified yesterday!!! Not only that but our settlement is next THURSDAY December 27th!!! Only 12 days after we first saw the house. We move in next Thursday, Friday and Saturday (for those of you who are dying to help); and are even toying with the idea of a New Years Eve party! We are beyond excited and cannot wait for everyone to see it!

Buying our first house!!!

For those of you who haven't heard, Brett and I have been house hunting the past few weeks. This past weekend our searching paid off, and we found "the one." It really is true what they say - when you find it, you know! Before we even went out looking at properties I could tell from the pictures and description online that we would want this house!

Brett is doing a test run of the commute today, but we plan to write a contract on the property tonight!!! Our first offer will be a "low ball," but we think they might take it due to the market conditions, plus the house has been on the market since August, and the previous owners have already bought and moved into their next home.

The home is a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath townhouse in Annandale (just off of Little River Turnpike and Ravensworth Road). The house is definately in "move in" condition but there are also a ton of improvements that we can make in the upcoming years to add value to the property.

If we do get this one, we hope to settle before New Years (can you say tax write off)!?!?!

Crossed fingers, extra prayers, and all the well wishes you can send our way would be much appreciated!

Mommy, I am growing!

This morning I realized that Peter is officially too long for his "secure sleeper" - i.e. the crib, within the crib that he has been sleeping in since birth (picture of him in it during his first week home). It is exactly 2 feet long, so I am guessing that he is about 24-25 inches now - we will find out for sure tomorrow at his 4 month doctors appointment. Peter has been in the 70%-90% for height at every doctor's visit thus far, so we are guessing he will be at least 6 foot 5 inches when he grows up. I figure Brett and I have MAYBE 8 or 9 more years of being taller than our son, and then it is all over for us.

Smile for the camera!

While uploading pictures from our camera yesterday, I noticed that there was an alarming number of photos where Brett and/or I are kissing the baby. Apparently, we find this to be very endearing and cute, but judging by Peter's reaction the feeling is not mutual!

Does my blog make you sleepy?

As a new mom I have quickly learned to do everything I did pre-baby only using one arm. Including, at times, working on the computer, folding laundry, or now that Brett created this site, posting blogs. Today, while writing about Peter's latest acheivement, I glanced down to find him fast alseep in my arms. Too cute not to share!

You see me rollin'

New baby milestone this afternoon! Peter can roll from his back onto his stomach now!!! Brett claims that this happened for the first time on Sunday morning, but I did not witness it until today. Looks like we will have a little crawler before we know it!

Petey's first conversation

For the past couple of weeks Peter has been "talking" - i.e. he will mimick a cooing sound if you ohh or ahh at him. Sometimes he gets so excited by it he will crack up laughing; and for some reason Brett saying "dada" over and over again is about the funniest thing Peter has ever seen (video of that to come).
