Last night we had a very non-traditional (but seriously fun) fourth of July! We traded in the requisite BBQ and home fireworks for a more elegant dinner and fireworks at the waterfront in DC.
The evening was shared with friends, Alex and Troy Goode, Mike, Sarah and Lauren Merril, Leigh Robinson, and Nick McKeta, and we all enjoyed this week's Tastings Journal's restaurant selection, Agraria.
The restaurant was located on the waterfront in Georgetown, and the meal was amazing! Four courses, including salads that had peeled tomatoes, perfectly cooked appetizers, mouth watering entrees, and decadent desserts... we were in heaven!
The meal was paced perfectly so that all of our food had time to settle, we didn't feel rushed, and in between entrees and dessert we got to go outside to watch (and take pictures of) the fireworks. (Alex is using Mike Merrill as a tri-pod in the picture).
To top off the night, everyone was in a great mood, there were tons of laughs, and enough conversation to fill over 4 hours without running out of things to say.
Definitely one of our most favorite fourths yet!
