I am a little bit of a nut about recycling. So much so, that I even bought a nice set of plastic plates/cups/forks/knives/spoons/bowls/etc. so that we would never have to buy paper products again. A lot of times when people come over for cook outs and see signs we post by the trash cans asking people to recycle or witnessing us actually pulling cans and bottles out, they are shocked or make fun.
However, others get inspired!
Case in point... My friend Heather, who was previously not a recycler, recently bought a huge recycling trash bin so that her family can start being more Earth friendly!!! She said that she was inspired by the effort that Brett and I make and wanted to know everything she could put in the bin.
The funny thing is that her being inspired by me made me inspired to do more to be energy efficent, recycle, etc. My sister-in-law posted a blog a few months ago about buying reusuable shopping bags, so I think that will be our next small step!

I'm so glad to hear you're a fanatic about recycling like I am. I scold people for tossing cans and bottles at work (where we have a recycle spot for such things), and I freak out at places where there aren't any recepticles (like public parks and such). I think we should all be modeling after Whole Foods and SEA-TAC airport with multi-use recycle centers readily availabile. Good for you for inspiring others!
